"My angel, come with me ..." Exhibition of works by Elena Mukhina

The Russian Academy of Arts presents the exhibition of the Honored Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Elena Fedorovna Mukhina "My angel, come with me…". The exposition of the exhibition includes about 100 works, including the famous painting series "Portraits of Friends", "Adam and Eve", "Indian Summer", "Big Nudes", as well as the latest works of the cycles "I am seven I", "Angels" other.

Elena Mukhina’s work is a bright page of modern culture. Her paintings in an amazing way exist on the verge of a chamber genre and a monumental panel and are a kind of "picturesque song" of the generous sensuality and full-blooded beauty of being a Russian woman. Each painting indisputably testifies to the bright poetics, individuality of manner, the power of the pictorial language, the courage of the master’s creative searches.

Elena Fedorovna Mukhina was born in 1954 in Yaroslavl in the family of the artist F.V. Novotelnov. She received her professional education at the Yaroslavl Art School, where her teachers were the students of the famous painter A. Osmyorkin - V. Leontiev, Yu. Druzhinina, etc. Elena Fedorovna has participated in many regional, republican, international and foreign exhibitions since 1975, and personal exhibitions since 1975. 1996 year. The artist’s works are in private collections in Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan, the USA, in the art museums of Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Norilsk, Exeter (Great Britain), in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

The art of Elena Mukhina is well known to Muscovites. Seventeen years ago, she literally burst into the artistic space of the capital, striking with the energy of her canvases and graphic sheets, leaving no room for indifference. What, then, at the first personal exhibition in Moscow attracted the famous Yaroslavl artist in art? The originality of the vision of the world? A peculiar interpretation of images? Their unexpected openness of feelings? The audacity of formal decisions? Probably all taken together, and also - sincerity, passion for the profession and a special light - the light of love, which literally then bewitched and intrigued the viewer.

Time has not erased or diminished these qualities. The images of the series "Big Nudes", "Dance", "Motherhood", marked by the greatness of being the fair sex, embody a certain intimacy and at the same time the everyday life of the world of a modern woman. Following the tradition of the Russian popular print, EF Mukhina often uses in these works the method of introducing verbal explanations into the image. Picturesque cycles "Indian Summer", "Bathhouse", "Summer Fun", "My angel be with me", "I am seven I" are permeated with an extraordinary feeling of warmth, rhythm of life. The freedom and imagination of the artist’s compositional thinking, decisiveness, swiftness in drawing and the subtle harmony of the pictorial organization of the canvas give rise to images that are exciting and memorable. In them we find and recognize the manifestations so characteristic of people in life: passion or shyness,nervous tension at the level of exhaustion or enveloping all softness and tenderness…

Important, attractive and unforgettable is the originality of Elena Mukhina’s talent, her individuality and a completely obvious huge creative potential.
