Exhibition project “Bilyar. Autumn of 1236 ”is dedicated to the crucial events in the history of the Volga Bulgaria that occurred on the territory of modern Tatarstan, the Samara and Ulyanovsk regions, and in many respects changed the course of world history. Mongol troops conquered the Volga Bulgaria and its capital Bilyar, called the Great City. The book of the archaeologist, doctor of historical sciences Konstantin Aleksandrovich Rudenko “Bilyar. Autumn of 1236 ”, published by Zaman Publishing House, and the exhibition project of the same name - an artistic and historical reconstruction of the events of the autumn of 1236. The reason for the creation of this project was the publication of the book of the same name by the publishing house Zaman. Its author Konstantin Rudenko in collaboration with the famous artist Bulat Gilvanov recreated a little-known page in Russian history - the heroic defense of Bilyar.
Bulat Alfirovich Gilvanov, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, an artist, decorator, film artist, screenwriter, poet, graduated from the graphic department of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. In the work of Bulat Gilvanov there are two main areas: realistic painting (mainly historical paintings that were created with the use of wide historical and archaeological material) and the original pictorial language he developed based on the study of folk and ancient Turkic art.
It is symbolic that this project opens in "Khazine" - the treasury of national art.
The exhibition will feature 18 original graphic sheets created by Bulat Gilvanov in 2016 for the book by Konstantin Rudenko.
Enhance the sense of authenticity and create a complete picture of the events of the fall of 1236 that have archeological artifacts from the funds of the Bilyar Reserve, the National Museum of the RME named after T. Evseev, the KFU Museum Complex (fragments of jewelry, dishes, arrowheads), modern photographs of the excavations and architectural remains of the once Great City, fragments of texts from the book.
