Paper Soldier (12+)

It is difficult to find in our country a person unfamiliar with the work of Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava - a poet, composer, bard, prose writer, screenwriter, whose poems, songs and stories became in the 1960s - 80s one of the symbols of the era.

In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory of our country in the Great Patriotic War, the Voronezh Drama Theater presents the play "Paper Soldier" based on Okudzhava’s story "Be Healthy, Schoolboy!" This autobiographical novel was the first published work of the author and quickly won the love of readers. A front-line writer (in the army from 1942 to 1944), Okudzhava wrote about the war not by hearsay, but described personal impressions and experiences. The hero of the story is himself, "a boy in a soldier’s greatcoat, looking at the world with a frightened gaze."

“Our performance is not so much about war, but about love,” says the director of the production Nikita Rak, “that war is scary, hard and painful, but that at some point youth and love conquer all those hard and terrible circumstances in which artificially found themselves. "

The play contains poems and songs by Bulat Okudzhava.
