"Another’s dreams." Exhibition of Sasha Vlasova (18+)

Alpert Gallery presents an exhibition of the works of Sasha Vlasova, an artist whose work cannot leave indifferent. She surprises with a variety of plots, fiction, naive charm and some kind of childish impudence. In her pictures of reality, there are exactly as many as there were in fiction. These are other people’s dreams or just fairy tales - bright, funny, sometimes scary, as they should be.

The artist’s fabulous arsenal is rich and expressive.

There are, for example, moderately corpulent kikimors who bask in pink buds and watch the sun go down. The fact that the sun sets in a giant glass is not so important. Bliss and peace spread with evening light, preventing the appearance of vain assumptions about the role of dishes in the heliocentric system of the world.

There are white-breasted birds of happiness (and perhaps Sirin, Alkonost and Gamayun?) - with rosy cheeks and strong legs. Placed in the branches of a tree hovering in the sky, they observe people and are ready to fall down at any moment and make someone happy. It becomes scary when you imagine a powerful claw glaring at someone’s unfortunate shoulder.

There is still a snake, or rather, even a snake - thin and not at all aggressive. Having entwined a stalk of some strange plant, she reaches for a citizen defenseless in her nakedness. There is no notorious apple in the plot, therefore it’s calm in the soul. You understand that all of them - a lizard, a bee, and a citizen with a snake - are just ordinary inhabitants of an ordinary garden.

And here’s another Thumbelina… It may have grown and matured, but it still fits in the flower of the swamp lily - it sleeps, not knowing that the world has changed. After all, something extraneous, significant and even more fantastic than Thumbelina herself invaded the well-known fairy tale. This is the rising sun, which took the form of a giant coat of arms of the USSR.

The exposition presents more than 20 works created by the author in different years. You can get acquainted with the artist at the opening, which will be held at the Alpert Gallery on December 23, 2016, at 18-00 (Moscow, Krasnokazarmennaya Street, 3).

Sasha Vlasova was born in Moscow in 1978. Graduated from the Academy of Painting of the Humanitarian University N. Nesterova (teachers V. A. Kulakov, S. A. Alimov, A. V. Kuznetsov). In 2002 she joined the Moscow Union of Artists (section of monumental and decorative art). He works in the field of easel painting, graphics, monumental and decorative art, landscape design.

The works are in the collection of the State Museum of A.S. Pushkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky State Museum-Reserve, Kaluga Picture Gallery, private collections in Russia, Germany and China. She was awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2013).
