Want to expand your musical horizons and break the stereotypes of perception of classical music? The Latvian group "DAGAMBA" will help you! On October 10, 2017, the Petersburg Concert invites to the only performance of a unique group in the Northern capital.
The DAGAMBA group burst into the musical world with powerful sound, combining diametrical opposites: musical cultures of East and West, classical and modern rhythms, percussion and cello, drums and piano. The musicians work in the crossover genre, offering the public unusual unusual arrangements of European works, generously seasoned with oriental motifs.
The ensemble was formed in 2011 by the graduate of the Jazep Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, the master of the Brussels Royal Academy of Music Valters Puce (cello) and his childhood friend, winner of numerous prestigious contests Antonam Trotsiuk (cello). Their creative search in various directions of music attracted the Iranian percussionist Hamidreza Rahbaralam (Daf, Setar) and Dinis Tenis (piano) to the group. This interaction brought a new, fresh sound to the band.
FROM PERSONAL ARCHIVE "DAGAMBA"
“Now in the world there are enough musicians playing academic works, but people living in a different information field will not understand the“ strict classics ”. And we have found something of our own in this direction. For example, Mozart’s “Lacrimosa” or Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” which everyone knows, we can beat so that listeners will discover completely new works in terms of tonality, rhythm, energy. But for us it is very difficult! Beating the classics, we have no right to do it cheaply and primitively, everything should be at a high musical level. ”
Petersburg Concert will present the DAGAMBA group to Petersburg music lovers in the Coliseum Arena concert hall. Latvian musicians, who are well known abroad, will introduce the Northern capital to the new spectacular program “Ludwig van Rammstein”, in which the band combined the works of Beethoven and the band Rammstein. This concert is part of the group’s tour of the cities of Russia and the Baltic.
The concert will take place on October 10 at 19.00 in the Coliseum Arena concert hall at 100 Nevsky Prospect.
