Children in Maly, Connection of times and Five elements of our theater

From January 20, the doors of the Maly Theater will open again for the audience after the winter holidays. Interesting premieres ahead. But today a few words about how the theater lives, in addition to performances.

The center of this life has long been the New Shchepkinsky Foyer. Now two museum expositions are deployed here at once:

- an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the pride and glory of the Maly Theater - People’s Artist of Russia Vitaly Solomin - photographs, costumes and personal belongings of Vitaly Methodievich;

- Exhibition of works by photographer Boris Kosarev "Key shot", timed to coincide with the premiere of the play "The Big Three. Yalta-45” by L. Svensson, who tells about the famous Yalta Conference with the participation of Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt in 1945.

Both of these exhibitions run until April 2022.

Here, in the New Shchepkinsky Foyer, the theater also arranges thematic meetings for children from the series “We are friends with the Maly!”. This is a completely new part of the life of the theater. Growing your audience is a difficult task, but at the same time a necessary one.

The New Shchepkinsky Foyer also hosts performances by the Maly Theater Orchestra. Live music before performances is a tradition that dates back to the 19th century. You can find the schedule of concerts in the Poster section on the theater website (the next ones are on January 28 and 29).

In general, “Link of Times” is what the theater is enthusiastically doing not only in the theater itself, but also in the Internet space, having already released several videos that are collected in a separate playlist on the theater’s YouTube channel.

Over the past two years, digitalization has penetrated into all areas of life, and the field of art is no exception. In the future, an online exhibition about the theatrical behind the scenes and a series of videos with actors will be prepared.
