Tales of L. Petrushevskaya cannot be unambiguously defined. They are both for children and adults - at the same time. There are several layers in them, and if a child sees only a fabulous component, then an adult, in addition to magic, also notices associations with modern life. The heroes of Petrushevskaya’s tales live in an ordinary world in which there is a place of poverty and misery, but, in addition, both sorcerers and wizards live, wonderful transformations take place and even there is a place of love. “Byuski Byata” is a fairy tale written in a fictitious language (similar to the language of children or slang of modern youth), where each word is incomprehensible, but the plot as a whole is understood without difficulty.

“Girl Nose” is a fairy tale about a beautiful girl Nina, who had a huge nose. To get rid of him, she goes to the sorcerer, he takes away his long nose, but this does not make her happy. And, on the contrary, it is the funny long nose of the heroine that attracts a young man to her. Thus, this is a fairy tale about the uniqueness and value of each person, each individuality.
