Dmitry Ershov:
from photo profession to photo culture. Lecture in the Gallery of Classical Photography

June 17 at 18.00, the Gallery of Classical Photography in conjunction with the Academy of Photography invites you to a meeting with the famous photographer Dmitry Ershov.

Dmitry Ershov is a hereditary photographer, participant of more than 20 exhibitions. Member of the Union of Photographers of Russia. The author’s works are in private collections in Russia, Austria, Australia. Lecturer at the Academy of Photography courses: “Professional Photography”, “Professional Advertising Photography”, “Photography from A to Z”, “Portrait Workshop”, “Still Life Workshop”.

In total, Dmitry Ershov dedicated photography for 35 years. He was engaged in scientific photography in geology and archeology (photographing and processing materials under expeditionary conditions, studio shooting of archeology items, professional manual laboratory processing and printing, visiting photography in museums). Created a photo studio and large-format printing laboratory. He was engaged in shooting the landscape, art portrait and still life, architecture, interiors, panoramas of jewelry, portraits.

The topic of the upcoming lecture, “From Photo Profession to Photo Culture,” is devoted to landscape photography. In the lesson, we will discuss the following issues:

• Dependence of landscape painter on nature and technology.
• What to look for first.
• Picturesque and photographic landscapes.
• The psychology of landscape composition.

“The photoprocess allows you to work on a complete image without changing the composition and perspective, thereby preserving the reality of the image. But the result is often reversed at first glance… We just don’t know what the world really is, what it is - and it’s not the artist or the photographer who is trying to understand, but just the person, the author of the presented works, ”says Dmitry Ershov.
