EXPERIMENTAL SCENE OF SKOLKOVO JAZZ SCIENCE - A DIVERSITY OF JAZZ STYLES AND DIRECTIONS

On August 25, Skolkovo Jazz Science will be held for the third time at the Skolkovo Innovation Center. On the experimental stage, guests of the festival will find a wide range of jazz forms, styles and trends, as well as entertaining scientific conversations. Voice project participant Tina Kuznetsova will present her own project Zventa Sventana.

Another headliner of the Festival will perform on the same stage - a famous Norwegian musician, one of the best performers of North-European jazz, a trumpeter, composer and head of his own orchestra - Mathias Eick (Norway). In 2007, he won the international competition of young talents “The International Jazz Award for New Talent”.

Among the other participants of Skolkovo Jazz Science, the following will enter the Experimental Stage: one of the most prominent soul singers of the capital - Sveta Zhavoronkova as part of Secret Atelier; 21 pm or Daniil Nikitin’s Musical Trio is a band that goes beyond sound, uses a wide variety of musical styles besides traditional jazz music and one of the best pianists / keyboardists on the planet and the only multi-instrumentalist of its kind in Russia who owns percussion instruments, bass and vocals - Valery Stepanov with his group.

Between performances, a lecture on the topic: “Does music change the brain? A tangled tangle of causes and effects ”on the Experimental stage will be read by Asya Kazantseva, a popularizer of science and a laureate in the field of popular science literature“ Enlightener ”. And the famous economic and political observer Boris Grozovsky will share his thoughts on the topic: "The economy of creative freedom."

On the main stage, the permanent headliner - Moscow Jazz Orchestra conducted by Igor Butman will present a joint program with the legendary American vocalist Fantine (USA).

In the immediate vicinity of the Main Stage, a Book Fair specializing in musical literature and the Vinyl Market will unfold, where visitors can buy or exchange rare records.

As in the past year, a lecture hall will be working on the site, whose speakers will talk about the present and future of various fields of knowledge at the intersection of science, culture, media and technology.

In collaboration with the WOW! HOW? Science festival, interactive zones and objects in the Art & Science theme will be created on the site, and DIY science laboratories will open.

A food court will be open all day at the event, where guests can get acquainted with the best Moscow street food projects. This year their number will increase markedly.

Skolkovo Jazz Science is an annual music festival with a scientific program on the territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center. The territory of improvisation, the space of scientific and musical discoveries. The festival is organized by the Skolkovo Foundation, a non-profit organization created on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation in September 2010.
