ERWIN OLAF. HARMONY OF DISSONANCE. MANIA OF PERFECTION

The Erarta Museum, in conjunction with the Dance Open international ballet festival, presents an exhibition of the flamboyant Dutch photo artist Erwin Olaf.

There is art beautiful, but there is great art. The beautiful pleases the eye, and the great helps a person to come to terms with the inescapable pain and bitterness of life. Erwin Olaf’s works are a silent cry that suffering is a path of knowledge, its natural stage, as a result of which through overcoming, through blood and sweat comes revelation, not beauty but truth is born.

The commonwealth of the Dutch photographer Olaf and the leading ballet companies of the Netherlands is a happy union that has given the world a miracle commensurate in scale with the art of old Dutch masters, a new direction - stage superrealism, through metamorphoses and hypocrisy capable of telling the truth about human nature at the level of biblical generalizations and with Shakespearean passion.

At an exhibition in the Erart Museum, viewers will see the works of Erwin Olaf, created by him from 1985 to 2016.
