Ordinary places become unusual. Objects of shooting turn into images and as if dissolved in a color mirage. Ordinary people reincarnate in unusual. With each work of the Equalization with the Unknown exhibition, Nadezhda Naidenova invites dialogue, immerses herself in the world of earthly images and not earthly ideas, again and again prompts to equate the known and the unknown.
Nadezhda Naidenova: “I always believed that I had technical brains and no creative principles. But in 2008, when I was seriously fascinated by photography, an amazing and completely unknown world opened up before me. But in any corner of the world there is a place that I want to leave in my memory, and a camera, just the tool that makes it possible to preserve and visually tell about unusual and absolutely amazing places. ”
Works of Hope - and there is a "visual story", in fact a dialogue - between the viewer and the work. Not by the author, but by the work. After all, artistic language has nothing to do with human. And who needs the authors to shoot the same way as anyone sees with a camera. What is the meaning of art, if it is not different from life?
The visual reception of the “visual dialogue” is especially complicated, in the case when geographical objects become the subject of interest of the author. There is always the temptation to rely on reality, to go the beaten path of the image of the existing. However, the works of Hope presented at the exhibition are fundamentally different. It is rather not a fixation of the existing, but a different view of the earthly world, and the human world. People in strange clothes are not perceived as festival mummers. They are, in fact, other, supernatural.
Hills - can not be immediately correlated with the location of the shooting. Hope turned them into an image cut off from geography, a Plato idea. Even a starfish - perhaps the most realistic exhibition piece - does not crawl along the bottom, but goes dry.
The images created by Nadezhda Naidenova, at first glance seem extremely simple. However, they add up to unsteady, but undoubtedly involving pictures in the dialogue, which rather represent not the world, but encourage the viewer to try to align himself with the unknown.
“I have always believed that I have technical brains and no creative principles. But in 2008, when I was seriously fascinated by photography, an amazing and completely unknown world opened up before me. But in any corner of the world there is a place that I want to leave in my memory, and a camera, just the tool that makes it possible to save and visually tell about unusual and absolutely stunning places. ”
