Natalya Golubeva most of all likes to shoot objects. Therefore, the still life genre is organically close to her. However, Natalia’s still lifes are not at all what everyone is used to. Classic still life - most of all resembles a charade compiled by the author from everyday things. I guessed the hidden meaning - I received an instructive lesson. Natalia Golubeva - not so!

“I like double messages and riddles. Especially if they are able to reflect the meaning. That is why eggs are often present in my works. After all, they best express the duality of the gaze - from the outside and from the inside of the shell. "

Yes, the author likes puzzles. But Natalya doesn’t guess them, and most importantly does not expect the viewer to try to figure out something. At the same time, of course, there is a secret in her works. Which one, exactly? So for each his own. It’s like an unopened book. You see the cover-shell-shell, but you don’t know what is under it. It may be a novel, or it may just be plain paper — that is, a book that can be written, or not written. Natalia’s works are interesting because they give the viewer absolute freedom of creative experience. The author reserves the right to show himself at least two possibilities, two ways. After all, no one really knows what exactly is hidden under the shell: tender flesh or burning garlic. Therefore, playing with shell-still lifes is so interesting. It is easy to feel like an alchemist in whom, from a flask that looks like an egg, a “red flower" can also be born - gold; and the “white flower" is silver; and if a miracle happens, then the “blue flower”, which is not in the works of Natalia. She offers us to find him.

Natalya Golubeva (Yakovleva) - photographer from Rostov-on-Don. Focused on photography since 2012. Films on Canon.
