On the days of the exhibition, the second edition of the illustrated magazine of Irkutsk photographers IFO-PHOTO will also be presented at the Gallery of Siberian Art. Applications for the new issue of the magazine have already arrived from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Italy, France, Germany and the USA.

The Irkutsk Photographic Society was created in October 1908. The first chairman was the then-famous photographer Innokenty Mikhailovich Portnyagin. The aim of the IFO’s work was to develop interest in photography among Irkutsk citizens through exhibitions of Irkutsk and foreign masters of photography. In 2000, the Irkutsk Photographic Society was revived. Photographers of Irkutsk felt the need to have their own creative union, like artists, architects, writers. The tasks that the creative union has set itself: exhibition activities in the country and abroad, the popularization of the art of photography, the exchange of creative information with other regional organizations of the Russian Union of Photographers, and the involvement of young people in the IFO. The new creative union actively declared itself and organically entered the cultural life of the region. From 2003 to 2015, IFO members became 12 times laureates of the Gubernatorial Prize in the field of culture. Among them are Boris Dmitriev, Edgar Bryukhanenko, Alexander Anosov, Ivan Gurov, Anatoly Byzov, Gennady Ivanov, Igor Sirokhin, Igor Berzhinsky. Today, the IFO brings together 48 photographers not only from Irkutsk, but also from Shelekhov, Angarsk, Usolye-Sibirsky, Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk, Ust-Kut, Listvyanka, Slyudyanka, as well as Ulan-Ude and Chita. Among them are 17 members of the Union of Photographers of Russia, 25 members of the Union of Photographers of Siberia.
