Some people know what the city looks like from the inside. Others - see only the facades. And I try to catch the moments when a person and a city, as if touching each other. ”

The main character of the works of Yuri Klimov is the city. The hero is unusual, multi-faceted and multi-layered. He requires from the author both a close look - in-depth, and the ability to keep balance. After all, this is the only way to walk along the fine line that separates sadness from sentimentality, architecture from drawing, the beauty of engineering structures from simple reinforcement.

The city of Yuri Klimov is not at all a “human anthill” and not a megalopolis, although it removes pipes from a thermal power plant, an arrow of a concrete pump, and Moscow City skyscrapers. But the pipe verticals - rhyme with titanium space, skyscrapers - disappear into the clouds, and the concrete pump looks more like a modernist “whip blow”.

With graphic accents, the author sets the rhythm for his almost musical composition. The pigeon stave echoes the gramophone creak from the already distant past. The hopes of homeless kittens nourish the aroma of capelin fried on a gas burner. Builders from tired hard workers turn into dancers and into actors requiring applause. And the townspeople - they just live: they go for groceries, hurry, run past. But it is thanks to them that Yuri Klimov closes the eternal circle of the city’s life. His and our city, built not by us, but ready to accept everyone who loves this city, who hears and feels it.
