Moscow International Forum “Culture. A look into the future ”, organized by the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow, will be held from October 15 to 18, 2014 at the Central Exhibition Hall“ Manege ”.

Forum “Culture. A look into the future ”is an open public project in which everyone can take part, and at the same time the sum of events that are important for the international community of professionals in the field of culture, science, art. At the same time, it will become a point of intersection of core interests and opportunities, urban problems and prospects, social needs and interests.

The forum will be the first experience of professional analysis and discussion of changes in the capital’s cultural environment in recent years, as well as form an agenda for further development. The three thematic blocks of the Forum - “Culture and Citizens”, “Culture and Professionals” and “Culture and the City” - will feature Russian and international experts in the field of cultural and creative industries, territorial development, marketing, economics and sociology of culture, etc.

Here you will meet representatives of various active city institutions: libraries and theaters, museums and parks, cultural centers and music labels, film companies, festivals and art fairs, universities and many others.

The Forum will discuss not only the current changes, but also the accessibility of culture for all, and especially for socially disadvantaged groups. Also in the focus of attention is the decentralization of culture and work with local communities, work with heritage and the development of the urban environment by cultural methods. Among other important topics of the Forum are issues of professional management: who, what and how manages in the field of culture; what is the effectiveness of culture; forecasts in the sector of the creative economy of Moscow.

Among the invited speakers of the Forum are heads of departments of the Government of Moscow and the Ministry of Culture, major Russian entrepreneurs, and international experts.

The forum will become the central event of the Year of Culture 2014 and will bring together more than 4000 participants from 15 countries of the world. On two floors of the Manege, various zones of the forum will be located. The lower floor will be given to a closed professional program. Within 4 days of the forum, the festival will be held on the ground floor of the Manege, which will present the best Moscow cultural initiatives of the last three years and projects of the future. The festival is a peculiar interface of modern Moscow culture with its variety of participation formats and offers. “Make culture with us!” The organizers urge, inviting all visitors to become full-fledged participants in the cultural process.

Master classes and lectures, presentations of museums, libraries, and cultural centers, concerts and film screenings, performances and performances, as well as children’s events - all the events of the festival program will be open to the general public.

The space of the festival floor will be divided into several zones, in each of which there is a place for creative events of various forms and genres. So, in the Great Hall will be held the grand opening of the Forum, concerts of participants of the "Jazz Manor" and the show "Voice. Children ”, the performance-concert“ Sugar ”by Ivan Vyrypaev, the screening of the film Conduction by Russian documentary director Alexei Loginov about the famous conductor Theodore Currentzis and much more.

The program of the Oval conference hall includes the Vremya performance of the Theater of Taste, a new performance by Dmitry Volkostrelov, and the stereoscopic dance of the fashionable Petersburg collective Cannon Dance. Presentations of large city projects (Lavka-Lavka, Lambada Market, City Food Market and The Heart of Moscow) will be held on the Open Stage, and visual merchandising, music, storytelling, cooking, restoration at master classes will be taught in the workshop area. from the NCCA, Strelka, MediaArtLab.

Children at the Manege will also not have to be bored: they will receive surprises from the Snark Theater, all kinds of games and quests, a journey through the world of professions from Masterslavl, a presentation of the Darwin Museum’s museum “Know Yourself - Know the World!”, Master classes in DJing and graffiti from “Hip-hop academy”, an interactive exhibition “Island of Discoveries” by the K. A. Timiryazev Museum and even a meeting with animals from the Moscow Zoo.

Throughout the Forum, in the Market zone, trendy gastro formats from young popular city teams will be presented, as well as a prefabricated souvenir shop of museums and gift shops in Moscow.
