"Yin-Yang. Conceptually." Andrey Efi

He is distinguished from the general stream as a neo-symbolist artist, but Andrei claims that he is simply a “symbolist”, since there was no real symbolism (except for the archaic world).

His works are always based on an idea and a plot, since without this Andrei believes there is no sense in the work - any picture “says”, what it “portrays”, or tries to “portray”, express. Exhibition "Yin-Yang. Conceptually ”is dedicated to the eternal theme of love. Sign and symbolic paintings, the plots of which are based on universal values and understanding of eroticism as an Aesthetic element of the universe.

The artist’s plastic language is a combination of various pictorial forms - archaic, naive (children’s), heraldic, geometric, but always verified in proportions, harmony of scale. The artist chooses from the variety of aesthetic and cultural systems (separated by time and space) - the fundamental universal elements, which he calls ’abstrogens’, and creates from them his new philosophically meaningful world.

Andrei Efi is a world-famous artist, curator, screenwriter. Member of more than 100 domestic and foreign art exhibitions. The artworks are in the collection of the State Russian Museum, as well as in private collections around the world.

In the 90s of the last century, the artist spent most of his creative activity in Moscow or abroad. As a result, viewers from Australia, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland were more familiar with his paintings.
