Master Class by Jazz Photographer Pavel Korbut

December 17th as part of a personal Exhibition "Emotional Jazz" the famous jazz photographer Pavel Korbut will hold a master class on the theme “Features of concert and stage photography”.

Pavel Korbut is a contemporary master of art photography, in front of the lens of which all the significant events of the Russian and world jazz scene of the last twenty years have passed. During the master class, he will touch upon general issues of concert shooting (such as photographer equipment, behavior strategy at a concert, etc.), and most importantly, he will reveal the specifics of the artistic language, techniques and commercial opportunities of the photographer.

It is worth noting that the lecture part of the lesson will be illustrated by numerous examples from the practice of Pavel Korbut, and the analysis of the work will take place on the example of photographs from the author’s personal archive, some of which are presented in the framework of the exhibition “Emotional Jazz”.

“Improving his mastery from year to year, Pavel created a large number of unique works filled with inner freedom, frozen music, well-felt drive, unquenchable swing, the revelation of timeless space in the perception of jazz. In his pictures, time does not stop, it slows down or vice versa takes a course, depending on the composition presented, ”commented radio host and jazz connoisseur Nikolai“ BigNik ”Bogaychuk.

To top it off, it remains to add that participation in the master class is by no means free, but affordable: with an entrance ticket to the gallery. The ticket, traditionally, gives the right to visit all the exhibits and exhibitions of the gallery. So the participants of the event will have the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the work of the photographer, but also to be inspired by the works of other masters represented in our museum.
