The nightly splendor of Crimea and the sparkling of sea blue, the grandeur of the mountains and the riot of magical colors of Crimean nature… From September 8 to 28, theHARASHO Gallery of Contemporary Art (International Center for Theater Arts "Golden Key") will host a personal exhibition of Crimean photographer Roman Lyubimsky.
For 3 years of filming, the photographer traveled to various parts of the Crimean peninsula, making more than a hundred photo trips. During this time, almost 500,000 photographs were taken, the best of which subsequently entered the video “Crimea. Another World ”, and now they will be presented at the exhibition of the same name in the Yevpatoriya gallery.
“Photography accompanies me most of my life,” says Roman Lyubimsky, “but I began to consider this a hobby as work since 2012.” The photographer considers astro-landscape to be his favorite genre: “Most of all, I love it when a classic landscape shot is supplemented with space objects: the moon, stars or the milky way!”
In the photographs presented at the exhibition “Crimea. Another world ”in the GAI“ theHARASHO ”depicts the southern part of the Crimean peninsula, from Feodosiya to Yalta. For example, places such as Koyashsky salt lake, Karadag volcano, Cape Chameleon and Tikhaya bay, Kapsel and Meganom bay, Novyi Svet village and mountains of the southern coast: Demerdzhi, Ai-Petri, Chatyr-Dag, as well as other famous corners of our peninsula.
The name of the exhibition is “Crimea. Another World” - the photographer explains that he shot mainly at night, when all the famous places had a completely different, unusual look. “We can say that the Crimea, which visitors to the exhibition will see in my photographs, will be“ different ”, not like our peninsula used to see and portray in paintings, photos and films, ”the author of the photo exhibition notes.
Visitors to the exhibition are also waiting to watch a video by Roman Lyubimsky about the beauty of the Crimean peninsula.
