Who are we? Where are we from?

On September 11, 2020, the Museum of Archeology of Moscow will open an exhibition that will tell about the settlement of the Moscow region. The project will show the development of the capital region from the Paleolithic era to the 17th century: from the first settlements to the capital of the medieval state. Visitors will learn about the culture of ancient people, their way of life, religion, when there was the first mention of our capital and what crafts the inhabitants of the first settlements were engaged in.

The exhibition will feature artifacts related to the Stone, Bronze and Early Iron Ages: flint arrowheads and spearheads, jewelry, clay figurines. Much attention will be paid to the Middle Ages, when the first cities appeared in the Moscow region and the formation of Moscow itself. The guests of the museum will see the reconstruction of the external appearance of a Vyatychanka woman and an ancient Russian potter, find out from which lands formed the population of the capital and what foreigners did in the medieval capital.
