The culture of St. Petersburg in Bahrain will be represented by a gala concert of ballet soloists, an evening of folklore music with opera stars and a unique photo project: the city through the eyes of angels

The program will open on May 11 Gala of soloists of the leading theaters of St. Petersburg. The highest level of performing skills and the most authoritative Russian choreographic school in the world on the stage of the National Theater of Bahrain will be demonstrated by dancers of the Mariinsky Theater - Anastasia Matvienko, Elena Evseeva, Philip Styopin, Ernest Latypov, Alexander Sergeev, Maxim Zyuzin, Igor Kolb, as well as soloists of the Mikhailovsky Theater troupe - Marat Shemiunov and Sabina Yapparova.

The gala concert will include both classical numbers - fragments from world-famous ballets, such as Swan Lake, Corsair, Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote, as well as original, bold, original works of modern choreographers, today recognized as the best. The gala concert will be held in two sections, beginning at 20 hours.

Acquaintance with the musical tradition of St. Petersburg will continue on May 14 at the Manama Cultural Center. There, listeners and spectators will meet with a unique folklore and instrumental group and musicians - arrangement masters who can combine almost any style popular in the Northern capital and give a new sound to any melody - be it a long folk song, a virtuoso aria from a classical opera or world rock -hit.

The originality of the folk arrangement is in the unique sound of folk instruments of Russia: bass balalaika, domra, accordion.

Soloists of the Mariinsky Opera Company, representatives of the domestic opera school at the best concert venues in the world, laureates of all-Russian and international competitions Alexander Trofimov (tenor) and Karina Chepurnova (soprano) are responsible for vocal perfection. They will also feature Russian folk songs beloved by many generations “Along the Piterskaya Street”, “Ant-Grass”, “Valenoks”, and popular “Black Eyes”, and songs of the war years - “Katyusha”, “Dark-skinned”, “Dear Long " and others. At the end of the evening, spectators and listeners will find a musical surprise, which, no doubt, will appeal to both residents and guests of Manama.

A folklore concert with the participation of soloists of the Russian opera will be held in one department, the beginning - at 20 hours.

From May 11 to June 11 in Manama, in the Exhibition Center "Art Center" will be held a photo exhibition dedicated to St. Petersburg. The exhibition is special because the author of the works, Yevgeny Mokhorev, invites everyone to see the city like the angels of St. Isaac’s Cathedral have been seeing it for 170 years.

The Cathedral of St. Isaac of Dalmatia, or simply St. Isaac’s Cathedral, is one of the most significant and beloved citizens and tourists. Saint Isaac is the heavenly patron of the emperor Peter I, who founded the city, and Petersburgers believe in the special mission of the cathedral - the guardian of the Northern capital.

According to the architect Auguste Monferrand, the balustrade of the main dome, rising 60 meters above the ground, was decorated with 24 bronze figures of angels. It is they, these angels, who peer into all the roads leading to St. Petersburg, and ward off trouble - and they watch how the city lives, grows and develops.
