The idea to create an exhibition project "The Legend of Sleepers" Andrea Stella began to nurture a few months before his death. His daughter Selena had a chance to organize an exhibition of his father’s works. Shortly before her father left, she promised Andrea to carry out a new project.

The opportunity to present in Russia and promote the art of Andrea Stella around the world today is a great honor, according to her daughter.

Narrating about Stella’s works is not an easy task, the viewer needs to use not only imagination, but also have knowledge in the field of ancient mythology. The artist’s characters are ancestors who watch us from a certain fabulous nothingness, celebrating secret rituals. They seem to make appointments to each other in fantastic places, travel through the lands of distant memories, where children live who will never grow up.

Despite the fact that the characters have bodily, human traits, images and plots tell us about the eternal. They seem to want to reveal to us the deep secret of stone, the wisdom of metal, the stubbornness of matter in the struggle against time; and the canvas turns into a dress that covers them.

Andrea Stella, like a real alchemist, "shapes" the material, turning his dreams into a picturesque reality. Combining tradition and modern techniques, he makes gold work his distinctive brand. Each of his works not only has an aesthetic component, but also has a deep religious meaning. Gold, as a material and as a color, is a symbol of the “spiritual” for an artist.
