Lecture by Alexander Markov "Philosophy of art? Yesterday, today, tomorrow"

Philosophy is not only a system of generalizations, but also an opportunity to take a fresh look at the familiar; in this she is close to art or technology. The philosophy of art comprehends those experiences that arise in us not only at the first acquaintance with art, but also with further interaction with it. You can call it the science of repeated, deeper acquaintance with art. Using the example of several philosophical concepts of different eras - Aristotle, Friedrich Schelling, Pavel Florensky, Merab Mamardashvili, Quentin Meyasu - the lecturer will demonstrate how works of art that are already familiar to us are perceived in a new way after reading certain philosophical works.
