Socialist realism and national romanticism in one foundry: 80 years of the opera Koroglu by Uzeyir Hajibeyov.

The lecture will tell about the historical and political context of the cultural situation in Azerbaijan at the beginning of the 20th century and about the origin of the national academic musical art. Within the context, the life and creative path of Uzeyir Hajibeyov will be highlighted, the story of the creation of the opera “Koroglu” will be told.
