Lecture "Governors of Siberia"

The history of the Governor-General of Siberia began during the reign of Catherine the Great. Since then, many governors have arrived in Irkutsk, who arrived in a distant cold land from the capital of St. Petersburg. Pestel, Muravyov, Korsakov, Speransky - each of these statesmen left his contribution to the development of our region. During the lecture, special attention will be paid to Count Muravyov-Amursky, whose portrait by the famous Russian artist Konstantin Makovsky decorates the museum’s exposition. Participation is by entrance fees to the museum.
