December 19 at 20.00 in the intellectual space of Art Club 21 will be a lecture on the topic - "Cinema avant-garde of the 20s of the XX century as a mirror of the revolution."
The period of development of domestic cinema of the 20s - early 30s of the last century is a unique phenomenon in its essence. Young and talented directors, keen on the idea of building a new world, realize themselves with the help of art, still young at that time.
At a particular historical point, two multidirectional processes converge. On the one hand, the possibility, after a long break, due to the lack of film and technical capabilities, to finally put into practice the planned experiments to modernize the form and content of the cinema language, and on the other hand, the past decade after the events of 1917 urgently requires an artistic understanding of what is happening.
The result not only exceeded all expectations; for decades ahead, it gave the direction of the cinema. The names of S. Eisenstein, L. Kuleshov, D. Vertov, and a number of other Soviet directors were not just inscribed in the history of world cinema, they practically determined it.
The lecture will be conducted by Vyacheslav Marusenkov, a film playwright, Ph.D.
The lecture will be accompanied by bright, memorable and avant-garde wines.
The cost of tickets is 1700 rubles. Tickets can be purchased directly at the event.
Address: Moscow, Center for Contemporary Arts Winery, 4th Syromyatnichesky Lane, 1s4, entrance 22.
