The exhibition of artist Luda Kalinichenko <500> METERS_ONLINE will open at the start of the young art START Center for Contemporary Art Winery on April 24. The installation is represented by art objects, digital and printed images. In the center of the exposition is a 16-meter canvas collected from printed frames of garbage.
Artist Luda Kalinichenko became a member of the START project following a portfolio review in Yekaterinburg. The START project regularly holds open reviews of works by young authors in various regions of Russia to search for and identify new names and talents.
In her installation, Luda reflects on the phenomenon of garbage - a physical trail left by a person in the real world. For several years, the artist removed the waste accumulated by her during the time spent online.
The main object of the exhibition is a 16-meter canvas from printed images of household waste. The exposition is complemented by digital and printed images and art objects.
Vera Trakhtenberg, curator: “The project <500> METERS_ONLINE is a kind of corridor built by Luda Kalinichenko between reality and virtuality. The time spent by the artist online turns into documentation of images of “waste” and becomes a real natural landscape - a stream of images 500 meters long. Thus, in the discursive model of post-no art, it creates a connection between the real and the virtual, making what we usually do not pay attention to as a key element of the exposition. It is important to note that the problem of the accumulation of household waste on our planet is becoming increasingly frightening, which gives the exhibition another aspect of relevance. "
Luda Kalinichenko, artist: “Two years ago, starting this project, I set myself the task of showing my presence in two spaces at the same time, I wanted to bring out a new unit of measurement of my condition. Now, I have come to the conclusion that the importance of this project is for me in the action itself. Through it, I became real, and against the backdrop of total artistry, I established myself as an artist. ”
