On August 1, 2019, the exhibition “Masters of Modern Graphics” opens at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the School of Watercolor by Sergey Andriyaka.
The exposition presents about 60 graphic works of artists A.D. Shmarinova, S.G. Gonkova, V.Yu. Grafova, P.S. Lyubaeva, E.A. Golomazova, E.V. Danilina, M.D. Kostovoi, V.A. Izotova, D.V. Leonova. The works are done in the technique of watercolor, acrylic, etching and pastel. The exposition is notable for its significant genre diversity: landscape, portrait, book illustration, battle and genre scenes.
The exposition opens with a series of illustrations (color etching) for the poem "The Word about Igor’s Regiment". The author of the works is the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, the head of the creative workshop of the PAX graphics, the famous master of the book A.D. Shmarinov. The accuracy and sophistication of the graphic language of works is associated with a poetic interpretation of Russian history.
No less interesting are the illustrations created by one of the most interesting contemporary masters of the book S.G. Racing. A teacher of the Academy of Watercolors and Fine Arts, Sergei Andriyaka, he is known as one of the most sought-after book artists today. The era of Fernand Magellan, the events of a heroic, difficult round-the-world sea voyage found a talented embodiment in the artist’s illustrations (graduate of the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov).

The exhibition features illustrations by the artist for Jack London’s White Fang book. A great place in the work of P.S. Lyubaev is occupied with paintings about the Great Patriotic War. Viewers can get acquainted with interesting, honest and touching views of the besieged Leningrad. We also note the architectural landscapes of the master, among which the pearl of the Vologda Territory - Ferapontov Monastery stands out.
Ekaterina Golomazova in 2009 she graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after IN AND. Surikov, specializing in graphic artist (book art). Studied in the book art workshop with honored artists of the RSFSR V.P. Panova and G.A. Mazurina, and then at the Honored Artist of Russia Yu.V. Ivanov - the head of the workshop "Art of illustration and design of the book." Since 2009 - Member of the Moscow Union of Artists (easel graphics section).
The exposition contains illustrations for the play by E.L. Schwartz’s “Ordinary Miracle”, landscape works in the technique of etching, views of Venice, made using the technique of pastel. It is worth noting that at present E.A. Golomazova specializes in illustrating children’s books.
Vitaly Grafov is a graduate of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Ilya Glazunov. Since 2008, he worked in creative painting workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts under the guidance of academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts brothers A.P. and S.P. Tkachevs. The exhibition presents watercolor landscapes of Italy - Naples with a view of the Gulf of Naples at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and a panorama of Rome from the Palatine Hill. V. Among the exhibitors, we also single out Milena Kostova and Varvara Izotova, graduates of the Moscow Art Theater named after V.I. Surikova. V. Izotova is represented by the MESSINA series of works on the famous earthquake in Italy in 1908. Six expressive works were done using silk-screen printing and linocut techniques. With the work of M. Kostova can be found in a series of etchings "Bulgaria". In these talented works, the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Balkan country is presented, the monuments of the ancient culture of Ancient Rome are successfully reflected. In addition, the works exclusively show the poetic nature of this country. A series of etchings “Flea market” is peculiar.
