ZSTI Art ParkING and the Trajectory of Sound will present the international project eNsemble + Phoenix. Soloists of the Phoenix Ensemble (Basel), one of the best Swiss contemporary music ensembles, will perform together with the leading Russian ensemble - St. Petersburg eNsemble in three Russian cities.
December 17 concerts will be held in the Arsenal of the NCCA (Nizhny Novgorod).
The musicians will present a project exploring the possibilities of the concert genre for a soloist and orchestra in the modern interpretation of young and famous composers from Switzerland and Russia. How is the ancient musical idea of interaction or opposition of the soloist and the orchestra revealed, how the musical material was transformed, and how the new Swiss and Russian music sounds?
The answers can be heard in two evenings, representing eight compositions for four soloists and an ensemble. Five compositions specially written for the project will sound for the first time. Each of the four soloists of the Phoenix Ensemble will play two compositions - Swiss and Russian composers - with the Russian eNsemble, conducted by conductors Fedor Lednev and Yurg Henneberger. The concert program will include compositions by Marina Khorkova, Denis Schuler, Alexander Khubeev, Dieter Amman, Antoine Chesse, Sergei Nevsky, Natalia Prokopenko, Christoph Schiss.
Soloists of the Ensemble Phoenix (Basel): Christoph Bösch, flute; Martin Jaggy, cello; Toshiko Sakakibara, clarinet; Daniel Bues, drums
