About a meeting:

“It’s impossible to wear it!” - collections from the catwalks very often provoke just such a reaction from the audience. On April 29, designers Julia and Anna will try to clarify the situation - they will tell how ideas for collections are born and why all these complex and strange things are needed. The meeting will be held in the format of a dialogue on fashion from the point of view of cultural studies and philosophy. It will be about the conceptual side of fashion and the impact of art on it. You will learn how art becomes a source of inspiration for clothing designers.

About speakers:

Julia Pakalina - designer, teacher at the British Higher School of Design. Julia decided to become a clothing designer after seeing Alexander McQueen’s “Plato’s Atlantis” collection. It was the ability to combine art and fashion that inspired her. Such an experiment was her collection ’Silenced’, which won a prize in the competition “New Names in Design - 2015” of Sobaka.ru magazine.

Anna Azevich - designer, teacher at the British Higher School of Design. Her collection “Pilgrimage” was presented at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Moscow. Anna is currently developing the eponymous brand of clothing and accessories.
