"Young talents in arts and crafts"

June 1 at 16-30 in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St., 103) will open the exhibition of the Kaluga Regional Center for Folk Art "Young Talents in Decorative and Applied Arts".

Folk art in modern society is a whole world in which there are traditional crafts and modern trends of hand-made; it is an inexhaustible flow of information that feeds the genres and concepts of professional art. The whole set of aesthetic signs of decorative and applied art, its artistic nature of improvisation and variability, is always aimed at a positive emotional response.

Today, an important aspect is the popularization of the cultural heritage of the region among the younger generation, the identification and support of young talented authors. Equally important is the imparting of social significance to the activities of art associations, studios and circles of decorative and applied art.

For many years these tasks have been successfully solved by the Kaluga Regional Center for Folk Art. One of the most significant events is the regional exhibition-competition "Young talents in the arts and crafts." The exposition combines the work of children and adolescents from 7 to 16 years old from municipal districts of the Kaluga region. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Kaluga Region, the Kaluga Regional Center for Folk Art, and the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts.

The exhibition includes a wide range of exhibits of various directions. The creative work demonstrates the high skill of embroidery and weaving, amazing lace made on bobbins. Bright pearls are copyrighted ceramics. Interesting exhibits of modern plastic small forms; bead compositions; panels from natural materials and much more. Most of the works are notable for their accuracy and subtlety of execution.

The rich imagination and skill of the participants of the exhibition-contest will be awarded prizes and valuable gifts.

We hope that the real, sincere creativity of our young authors will bring joy, aesthetic pleasure and a huge charge of positive energy to the citizens of Kazan and the city.
