The ceremony will be opened by Yuri Mikhailovich Baturin, Chairman of the Union of Photo Artists of Russia, cosmonaut pilot, Hero of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Young authors from 46 regions of Russia took part in the competition. Among them are the residents of Kaluga: Svetlana Tarasova, Maria Sokolova and Anton Shulgin. Geography and scope of the project are impressive: Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Chita, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Kostroma, Lipetsk, Moscow, Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Sakhalin region, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar and Kamchatka, Perm, Primorsky Krai, the Republic of Sakha and Adygea. The All-Russian Festival “YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS OF RUSSIA” is being hosted by the Kaluga Region for the first time this year. July 3, the festival starts in the capital of the region - the city of Kaluga, on July 4, its participants will be able to see other cities in the region: Maloyaroslavets, Obninsk and Borovsk. Special programs have been prepared for them in Obninsk and Borovsk.
It is significant that on July 5, the Kaluga Region will celebrate its 75th anniversary, and in the Kaluga City Culture and Recreation Park all districts of the region will open their farmsteads, which certainly will not remain without attention of the participants of the photo festival.
The project “All-Russian Competition and Festival“ YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS OF RUSSIA ”was established by the Union of Photo Artists of Russia in 2001 as an annual event. It helps, supports, develops young Russian photographers, creating an effective launching pad and the opportunity to declare themselves to hundreds of authors aged 18 to 35 years from different regions and cities of our huge country. This is an important and significant project of the Union, 18 years of history, development and discoveries of the young photography of Russia. The venue for the festival in different years was provided by: Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Cheboksary, Plyos (Ivanovo region), Pushchino (Moscow region), gathering a forum of more than 200 young photographers - photojournalists and photo artists from various Russian regions and cities.
