The Faberge Museum launched a neural network in the VKontakte community for its 10th anniversary

What if anyone could order Carl Faberge a jewelry Easter egg? The “Your Family Fabergé” project for the 10th anniversary of the Faberge Museum allows users to create a unique Fabergé egg design based on their preferences.

The idea of the new neural network is based on a reference to the history of the famous jewelry company Faberge, which was famous for its individual approach to the customer and took into account not only fashion trends, but also the personal wishes of the client and important events in his life when fulfilling the order. Some Faberge products, primarily the famous imperial Easter eggs, were made in a single copy, which made them absolutely unique works of decorative and applied art.

The organizers of the project decided to give everyone the opportunity to feel like a customer of the Faberge company and imagine what a Faberge egg might look like in various, even modern, artistic styles, including steam punk, pop art, biodesign and others. In the wake of the popularity of neural networks, it was decided to use this particular technology for creating objects in order to see the result as quickly as possible. The chatbot only needs half an hour to generate an image, while it took Faberge craftsmen at least a year to create the original egg.

To get your own family egg, you need to subscribe to the museum’s VKontakte community @fabergemuseum, write in private messages, and the Faberge bot will help you create your unique piece of digital art. The neural network generates images based on user responses, so it is impossible to repeat the result. A new history of the great Faberge is being written with your direct participation!

On November 19, 2013, the first non-state museum of federal significance, the Faberge Museum, opened in the restored Shuvalov Palace on the embankment of the Fontanka River. The museum presents a unique collection of Russian decorative, applied and jewelry art, including unique works by Faberge. In a relatively short period, the Faberge Museum has become one of the most famous cultural sites in St. Petersburg and entered the TOP 10 most visited museums in Russia.
