Painting by Natalia Florenskaya does not meet the requirements that contemporary art critics make for their analysis. This art seeks to reflect the world, easily finds its audience, is not afraid of platitudes and does not need comments. At the same time, this art is interesting to modern consciousness, which has managed to see in it an element of play - the key to understanding the artist’s work. In an incomprehensible way, the viewer is involved in the search for clues to the author’s style, comprehending the specifics of the artist’s special view of the world, which is based on inexhaustible optimism, love for the beauty of life and the author’s ironic perception of reality.

The paintings displayed in the exhibition combine images from different times and different areas of cultural experience. In the perception of reality, as a stream of colors and forms, the value of the space of everyday life is clearly read. In her works, she comes to life thanks to the "personal" participation of the artist, who creates an unimaginable everyday life that surpasses any fiction in its content. Enlarged objects, torn out by light against a dark background or, conversely, on a surface shining with light, clearly declare themselves separate objects, united by the will of the author into group compositions, representing a kind of psychological portraits.

The works presented at the exhibition date back to the last two years, one of which was almost entirely held in Georgia.

Natalia Andreevna Florenskaya was born in Leningrad. Graduated from the Faculty of Monumental Painting of the Leningrad High School of Art and Industry. V. I. Mukhina. Since 1963 she worked as a production designer on television, since 1967 - as an artist at the Graphic Arts Combine. Since 1979, a member of the Union of Artists (graphics section). From the beginning of the 1980s to the present, he has been engaged in botanical illustration for various publishing houses, scientific publications of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Botanical Institute named after V.I. V.L. Komarov RAS.
