"Night at the Museum" -2018 at the Museum of Moscow

This year, the main city museum of the capital - the Museum of Moscow - will become the launching pad for the all-Russian action “Night at the Museum”.

May 19 at 19. 00 in the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow will be the official opening of the action "Night at the Museum." The start of the action will be given by Vladimir Aristarkhov, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kibovsky, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Culture of Moscow and Alina Saprykina, General Director of the Museum Association Moscow Museum.

Among the guests of the ceremony: Zelfira Tregulova, General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Vasily Ovchinnikov, General Director of Mosgortur, Alexei Levykin, Director of the State Historical Museum, Vasily Tsereteli, Executive Director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), Julia Petrova, Director of the Museum of Russian Impressionism and others.

This evening, the current exhibitions of the Museum of Moscow will be open for free access: the comprehensive “History of Moscow for children and adults”, the informative “Three stories of Provision warehouses”, the symbolic “Image of George the Victorious in the history of 20th-century culture”. Museum guests will also be able to see the works of young Moscow public art artists in the project “Enter History”, the photo exhibition “Moscow Industrial”, the exhibition of contemporary art about sports “And, of course, football!”, As well as the project “Tragedy in the Corner”: Art is a travel guide for Russia, representing contemporary works of 34 of the most prominent young artists from 14 regions of Russia.

Every hour, from 18:30 to 21:30, the museum will organize free guided tours of the exhibitions. At the exhibition “Three stories of Providence”, one can see the most interesting objects of the museum’s collection related to the history of the complex, an architectural monument of federal significance, where the Museum of Moscow is located. A curatorial tour of the contemporary art exhibition "Tragedy in the Corner" will be held at 16:00, 19:00 and 21:00.

In the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow from 11. 00 to 23:00 the Market of local food will unfold. The project, celebrating its fifth anniversary in May of this year, will acquaint museum guests with the most interesting menus of Moscow street food. The theme of the market will be the slogan "All people are people."

From 19:40, the museum’s courtyard will become the stage for contemporary musicians of different styles: DJ MoBKiD will start at 19. 40, from 22. 00 to 23. 00 all guests will enjoy the performance of the Pasosh group, and from 23. 00 to 01. 00 - DJ set by Petit Shinawatra.

Fans of classical music in one of the exhibition halls of the Museum of Moscow will be able to listen to the performance of the Symphony Orchestra and the Academic Choir of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music (conductor - Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Lutsenko) poem for the symphony orchestra, choir and soloists of the "Bell" Sergei Rakhmaninov, considered one of peaks of the composer’s work.

The tour desk at the Museum of Moscow will conduct unique excursions in the city - to the House of the Governor-General of Moscow, currently - the House of the Government of Moscow, to the Petrovsky Travel Palace and others.
