"If you are looking for jazz with great melodies and high availability, this music is for you!" - write critics about the St. Petersburg team Fusion Point Trio (Fusion Point Trio). On April 12, the trio invites to their concert, which is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the creation of the ensemble. The musicians will perform with the program "Spring in the Colors of Jazz" - the program includes well-known and new compositions, as well as adaptations of famous works of classical music. The music of this program is filled with the rhythms of modern jazz styles and permeated with touching romantic melodies that will absolutely cheer you up on Sunday evening! However, you should definitely evaluate the program yourself - you won’t hear such jazz everywhere. The soloists of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra will take part in the concert as special guests.
Full immersion in the world of high-quality modern jazz stage will take place in the small hall of the Catherine Assembly, the program starts at 19.00. The duration of the concert is 2 hours (with one intermission). For viewers over six years old.
The ensemble’s repertoire reflects various jazz and contemporary music trends. Despite the polystyling of the compositions, some critics note that the sound of "Fusion Point Trio" can be attributed to such directions as modern jazz and post-fusion. The musicians were influenced by such performers as Esbjorn Svensson Trio, Hiromi Uehara, Michel Petrucciani, Niacin, Marcus Miller and many others.
Fusion Point Trio was created by pianist and composer Kirill Sokirko in 2009. The project was conceived as an instrumental chamber group that continues the tradition of performing in the trio format and performs author’s music. The composition of the instruments was very common in the jazz environment - piano, bass guitar, drums. The first concerts were held in this composition. For 10 years of performances in St. Petersburg and participation in foreign festivals, the collective has found many fans both among music lovers and among professional musicians.
The trio works with the chamber choir of the Smolny Cathedral, as well as at the Mariinsky Theater - with their own programs and in subscription concerts. Musicians - as part of a collective and separately - participate in concert programs of contemporary music not only on jazz stages, but also in the halls of St. Petersburg, such as the Great Hall of the Philharmonic Society, the Small Hall of the Conservatory named after V.I. AK Glazunova, Smolny Cathedral Concert and Exhibition Hall, Mariinsky Theater. The collective holds events in the form of musical performances, creative meetings, thematic concerts, concerts-lectures.
The program will include arrangements of works by J. S. Bach, P. I. Tchaikovsky, J. Bizet; compositions from the albums "Morning Rain", "Reason and Illusion", the album-suite "Circles of Time", fantasy for the jazz trio "Loneliness. Space. Infinity".
