Personal exhibition of Dmitry Lysyakov "Silver"

September 14 at 16.00 in the main building of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (5 Lenin St.) opens a personal exhibition of the famous Irkutsk painter Dmitry Lysyakov. The exposition was called “Silver”, which has several meanings at once. Firstly, it means a silver-shimmering color scheme, from which the atmosphere of his paintings is born. Secondly, it contains a reference to the masters and achievements of the Silver Age, as well as the time of a certain maturity of the author himself. The exhibition is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the artist and is a retrospective of his career. The exposition contains about 20 paintings created in recent decades: portraits, landscapes and still lifes.

Dmitry Lysyakov is a painter who is thoughtful, critical and responsible for his work. Almost any painting by a master — a portrait, still life or genre sketch — can attract attention for a long time. An unusually intense, but harmonious sound of flowers, a confident and virtuoso brushstroke, bright light transmission give an exciting and unique charm to his work. One of the author’s favorite genres is landscape. And whatever he depicts - sunny Spain, cobbled narrow streets of Israel or morning fog over the Angara, the master’s works are distinguished by unusual contemplation, lyricism and subtlety of worldview. Portraits of Irkutsk citizens - contemporaries of the painter, also carry a special emotional charge. They testify not only to Dmitry Lysyakov’s keen interest in conveying external resemblance, but also to his desire to capture the very essence of the human person, complex and contradictory.
