"On the River of Time." Exhibition of works by Igor Mashkov

The Exhibition Halls of the Russian Academy of Arts (Moscow, Prechistenka 21) will host an exhibition of works “On the River of Time” by the Honored Artist of Russia, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Igor Gennadievich Mashkov. Its name is deeply symbolic, because the basis of the exposition, which includes about 50 works of different years (portraits, compositions, still lifes, landscapes) will be composed of paintings from thematic painting series created by the author over several decades. These are works from the cycle on the themes of the history of the Moscow kingdom, compositions from a series of works on the Russian Cossacks from Tsar Ivan the Terrible to the Caucasian Wars, the encyclopedic series “History of the Russian Orthodox Pilgrimage” and “The Path to the City of Heaven”. Appeal to one’s origins, moral and spiritual values is especially important in today’s dynamically changing world.

Igor Mashkov was born in 1967, graduated from the Moscow secondary art school at the Moscow State Art Institute named after IN AND. Surikov, in 1993 - Moscow State Academic Art Institute. IN AND. Glazunov), scholarship holder of the Creative Painting Workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts under the guidance of academicians A. and S.P. Tkachevs (1995-1999) in Moscow.

In the works of all genres of painting in which the artist works, his desire for the most complete reflection of the beauty of the universe is acutely felt. Subtlely felt mood, state of nature, masterfully conveyed color, lighting effects give the work a special emotionality. In combination with the psychologism of portraiture, this creates a deep, memorable picture, characterized by naturalness, spiritual fullness.

The work of I. Mashkov is well known to the viewer. Since 1989, the artist has participated in numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad. The series "History of Russian Orthodox Pilgrimage" was constantly exhibited at the exhibition-forum "Orthodox Russia". More than 50 personal exhibitions of the artist took place in major Russian museums, exhibition halls, and abroad.

The works of I. Mashkov are presented in the Presidential Administration, Moscow City Duma, the Russian Academy of Arts, the State Historical Museum, the Russian Culture Fund, the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill, the Pilgrimage Center of the Moscow Patriarchate, in the collections of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Head of the Russian Imperial House E.
