On June 5 at 4:00 PM, the Gallery of Siberian Art (23 Karl Marx Street) will open an exhibition in memory of Valery Erofeevsky, "On the Waves of My Life." The exhibition features over thirty paintings, representing a retrospective of the artist’s work and dedicated to themes such as Lake Baikal, Irkutsk, Altai, and Mongolia.
The work of Valery Petrovich Erofeevsky (1955–2013) harmoniously intertwined with the overall Siberian artistic fabric, enriching its cultural heritage. Creating realistic paintings intended to celebrate the beauty of his native land, the artist sought to capture the moment, convey the inner state of the soul, and, above all, vividly capture Siberian nature.
The artist also shared what resonated with him during his travels (works dedicated to his journeys to Mongolia and Altai). Each canvas reflects the artist’s life, his personal stories, and philosophical reflections, where calm gives way to ripples from a gentle breeze or transforms into restless waves, seeking to convey to the viewer the essence of the artist’s work.
Valery Erofeevsky’s works are included in the collections of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V. P. Sukachev, the Ts. S. Sampilov Art Museum in Ulan-Ude, the V. K. Arsenyev International Exhibition Center and Museum (Vladivostok), and in private collections in Russia and abroad: in southern China, South Korea, Yugoslavia, Poland, England, and the United States.
The exhibition in memory of Valery Erofeevsky, "On the Waves of My Life," will be open at the Gallery of Siberian Art (23 Karl Marx Street) until July 12.
