From July 6 to July 17, a collective exhibition of students of the Rodchenko School and the British Higher School of Design “Field of View” will be held in the White Hall of the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography.
The task of translating a photographic image into a material art object, which the project participants set for themselves, meets with a promising theme - landscape. Young artists turn to the space around us, on the one hand, trying to find constancy in its variability, and on the other, trying to designate the landscape as an independent field, sometimes in the literal sense of terra incognita, which can be filled with meanings at one’s own discretion or constructed their own, unreal world. Thus, the authors are trying to affirm the landscape in the status adequate to today’s artistic expression. The works are deliberately performed in various, both traditional and modern techniques, which greatly expands their media capabilities. The main part of the project was created in the workshop of Lyudmila Zinchenko.
In addition to photography, objects and videos will be presented at the exposition, an audio-visual performance of middleofnowhere (collaboration of Ilya Artemov and Grigory Mumrikov) will be held at the opening.
The exhibition is part of the Parallel Program of the 5th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
