"An interrupted future." The legendary Soviet cartoonist A. Krylov

Feel the PAST in the FUTURE. The relevance of his work is amazing even in 2018! 1962, 1963, 1968, 1970, the 80s… So far, but so familiar. At the exhibition in the L’ACCENT RUSSE gallery, about 60 original caricatures are presented, which were published in the magazines KROKODIL, FITIL and so on.

Exhibition of the legendary cartoonist Andrei Krylov, Honored Artist of Russia.

Born in 1929 in Moscow.

Art education, the classical school of painting - did not bring him such fame and legend as caricature art. He is kukryniks and is always connected with the name of the legend of the Soviet times - Crocodile magazine! And the Crocodile is the Age on which several generations grew.

In his satirical work, Krylov always proceeded from the well-known position that “laughter is a serious matter”, correctly understanding, as Soviet critics wrote, the civil position of the Soviet cartoonist.

His cartoons are always funny, but the artist never stooped to cheap comic book.

Andrey Krylov participated in more than 80 different exhibitions both in Russia and abroad.

His cartoons are subtle and understandable without words, and most importantly, over time, they do not age and many of them do not lose relevance.

Despite the caricatures and humor, Krylov is one of the most talented successors of the classical school of painting by Russian artists.

Many of his works are in museums and private collections in Russia, USA, Germany, Holland, Cuba, Bulgaria, etc.
