The problem of image, representation, illusion forms one of the central subjects in the world history of art and, in particular, in modern artistic practices.

The eleventh thematic exposition of works from the collection of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art MMOMA is devoted to the study and analysis of iconoclastic tendencies and motifs in the art of the second half of the 20th - early 21st century. Within it, milestones of development and ways of reading the abstract image can be traced - from the experimental modernist tradition of working with the form of the 1960s to the conceptual strategies of today. The exhibition combines chronological and thematic approaches, consistently highlighting the key stages in the development of the national art scene through the prism of modernity and other eras.
