On March 26, in the hall of the State Academic Capella, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sergei Stadler, People’s Artist of Russia, will perform an interesting program called “Journey through Hoffmann’s Tales” by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, undoubtedly the most musical of storytellers and the most fabulous of musicians. In his literary works, mysticism intertwines with reality, frightening with the beautiful, they equally fascinate both adults and children. Not surprisingly, many composers could not get past these magical stories. One evening, performed by a wonderful team, the best fragments from operas and ballets based on the tales of Hoffmann will be heard.
