"River of times." Valery and Vitaly Skobeev.

The exhibition of paintings "The River of Times" is dedicated to the work of two distinctive artists who are not alike, father and son - Valery Nikolaevich (1938) and Vitaliy Valerevich (1968) Skobeev, for whom 2018 was an anniversary.

The work of Valery Skobeev developed and gained strength in the era of Soviet realism, which remains in the history of not only Russian but also world culture, because it was an artistic discovery, a phenomenon of a new world full of hope, dream and accomplishments. The works of Valery Skobeev, created several decades ago, still look modern. His heroes have not lost their romantic appeal, we are interested in meeting them: “Metallurgists from KAMAZ”, “Seagulls over Kama”, “Road”. The plot and picturesque language are deep, accurate and convincing in one of the best works not only in the art of Tatarstan, but also in Russia, in the painting “Russian Field” from the triptych “June 1941”. The large cycle consists of monumental canvases and portraits of art representatives dedicated to the culture of Tatarstan and Russia - Tukay, Saydashev, Jalil, Yarullin, Yakhin, Yesenin, Tsoi, Vysotsky; romantic female portraits.

The artist Valery Skobeev has many works in all genres. These are landscapes, and still lifes, and allegories, and nudity, and children’s images. Valery Nikolaevich continues to work a lot today. For the first time, the exhibition “Tukay among friends”, portraits of Gabriel Derzhavin, Ilgam Shakirov, Alfiya Avzalova, etc. will be presented.

Next to the figure of his father, master of realism Valery Skobeev - Vitaliy Skobeev. He found his way in art to represent his vision of the world. Its complex compositions surprise with the hugeness of projects, ideas, themes covering the whole Cosmos, the whole Universe. “To bring divine beauty and joy to the world is the innermost goal of creativity,” the artist believes.

At the exhibition, the works of Vitaliy Skobeev are presented in cycles: “Allegories”, “Blagovest”, “Mythology”, “Teachers”, “Tablets of the cosmos” and others. About space, the infinity of the world, about Eternal love, about the Prophets of world religions, about great artists, sages and scientists of different times and eras. The artist’s works call for knowledge, their own spiritual searches and discoveries in the way of these thoughts. With Vitaly’s paintings, you involuntarily enter into a silent dialogue.

How open and clear the language of paintings by Valery Skobeev with his heroes - the builders of new cities, with the images of artists - is so unusual, symbolic and mysterious is the language of painting by Vitaliy Skobeev, who seeks to tell the viewer about the thousand-year history of the earth, human civilization, about eternity. "The river of times in its aspiration takes away all the affairs of people…".

The creativity of artists, like any real art, serves a wonderful idea and purpose - to glorify life, save and save our land from death and extinction, and increase the spiritual wealth of Mankind. The case of father and grandfather is continued by the young artist Alexander Skobeev, who works in Moscow.

The works of artists are in the collections of museums in Russia, private Russian and foreign collections.

The large-scale exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Valery Nikolayevich and the 50th anniversary of Vitaly Valeryevich Skobeev, which opens on August 2 at the Khazine National Art Gallery of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, presents more than sixty works. The exhibition runs until September 2, 2018.
