Painting the fabric using the COLD BATIK technique

Batik is a hand-painted fabric. A peculiar technology of drawing a pattern on matter arose in the 16th century in Indonesia. In Europe, batik became known in the 19th century, and gained distribution with the invention of aniline dyes. Aniline dyes replaced natural ones and allowed to speed up the process of making batik. All classes are taught by David Diogo.

Classes are held in the form of master classes: the master shows a technical technique, students repeat. In the lesson, students receive complete information about the technique and paint work in the material.

At our workshop you will learn:

• - painting on raw fabric with the guidance of the reserve composition
• - preparing fabrics for painting,
• - painting on a painted background in various ways
• - preparation of special dyes

Master classes are held only on Saturdays and Sundays.
