Exhibition project of the Gokhran of Russia and the State Historical Museum “Man-made connection of times. The Art of Jewelers of Russia” is designed to demonstrate the creative connection between the masters of the past and the present. Historically, with their work, domestic jewelers introduced the world community to the culture of Russia. Modern craftsmen continue their work, preserving and developing the best traditions of jewelry art.

“Domestic jewelry art at all times has been the undisputed standard of exceptional craftsmanship. The works of Russian jewelers, in addition to the highest technology, are distinguished by amazing spirituality, harmony and a special sense of material. The exhibition of the Gokhran of Russia, which opens at the Historical Museum in the year of its 150th anniversary, continues the series of bright anniversary projects. Here, in the Museum of National History of Russia, the best works of modern masters will be presented, continuing the glorious traditions of the Russian school of jewelry art,” says Alexei Levykin, director of the Historical Museum.

The central part of the exhibition will be occupied by the works of the winners of the state jewelry art competition “Russia. XXI Century". The competition is held by the Gokhran of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Guild of Jewelers of Russia in 14 nominations in the jewelry, stone-cutting and weapons areas. The best competition works will introduce the guests of the exhibition of jewelry creativity with a variety of techniques and technologies, original creative ideas, demonstrating centuries-old jewelry traditions.

“A unique feature of the exhibition will be the exhibiting of competition works together with the works of great jewelers of the 18th-20th centuries from the collection of the Gokhran of Russia, most of which have never been exhibited. Visitors to the exhibition will have a rare opportunity to see evidence of a great heritage in the year of the 150th anniversary of the museum, since the exhibits have great historical, cultural and artistic value,” said Andrey Yurin, head of the Gokhran of Russia.

“It is a great honor for us to be a partner of the exhibition and present a collection of jewelry made by our craftsmen according to the sketches of the firm of the famous Carl Faberge. With this collection, we pay tribute to the brilliant masters of the past and emphasize the connection between generations in Russian jewelry art,” said Irina Morozovskaya, General Director of the ALROSA Jewelry Group, which supported the exhibition.

A separate place will be occupied by the jewelry works of Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, Alexei Dontsov, Eduard Nikitin, Yuri Fedorov, Dmitry Samorukov, recognized in the professional world community, watches by Konstantin Chaikin, weapons by Gennady Sokolov and Vasily Vorobyov and others. The presented works will demonstrate a high artistic level, individuality and uniqueness.

In addition to museum valuables, unique full-color ultra-realistic holograms will be presented - exact optical copies of the exhibits of the Diamond Fund of Russia. Holograms make it possible to display priceless precious items that cannot leave the territory of the Moscow Kremlin.

In order to get acquainted with the authors, exchange creative experience and skills of specialists in the field of jewelry, within two months of the exhibition, on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, Author’s Days, educational programs (master classes) for students of specialized educational institutions, for all lovers and admirers of jewelry will be held. art.
