Seminar "15 things you must do to be represented by the gallery"

On December 18, at 15:00, the Center for Photography invites professionals and photographers at the beginning of their careers to the workshop of gallery owner Daniel Miller, owner and director of the Duncan Miller Gallery, “15 Things You Need to Do to be Presented by the Gallery”.

Daniel Miller is the owner and director of the Duncan Miller Gallery, the creator of the successful Collector’s Favorites program. His public photo project, American Icons, sponsored by Chevrolet, was the most visited in Los Angeles history. Miller has created a site for photography collectors around the world - YourDailyPhotograph.com. He regularly advises both beginners and reputable collectors, celebrities, investors, philanthropists and officials, including several ambassadors and the Princess of Spain.

At the seminar you can get answers to questions about how to start selling your work and what you need to do with the "step by step" instruction:

- He will explain what is the difference between a gallery-museum and a gallery-exhibition space and why it is important for a photographer.

- He focuses on where to exhibit his works, how to prepare them for the exhibition, what role the first impression plays and why projects that are not yet ready should not be shown. He will explain why you need to carefully study the galleries with which you are going to work, what to talk with gallery owners and why it is so important to be responsible for your words.

- Daniel will also touch upon the resume as the main tool of a novice photographer and specify what gallery owners pay attention to.

- He will tell you what role social media, websites, photo books and publications play in the promotion. He will explain why it makes sense to replace the site with a Facebook (продукт Meta Platforms Inc., компания признана экстремистской организацией, деятельность на территории РФ запрещена) page, why you need a photo book, how to make your photos print / post on sites and what role self-promotion plays in all this (and also answers the questions “what to send, when to send and why send").
