"Family as a constructor" Lecture Hall of the Museum of Moscow

December 26, 2019 - March 15, 2020 the Museum of Moscow hosts the exhibition “Family Values”, which shows the 150-year history of the development of the urban family and explores modern forms of family unions.

From January to March, the Lecture Hall of the Museum of Moscow organizes a parallel program “Family as a Designer” in the exposition space. Experts from various fields will discuss changes in the perception of the family, modern concepts of parenting and maintaining healthy relationships. Specialists will help to understand why people should turn to psychologists, what social and biological laws are the basis of love and affection, how to help elderly relatives who are at risk.

On January 16, at the discussion “Why and how to choose a psychologist?” Amina Nazaralieva, a psychotherapist and sexologist, together with medical journalist Marianna Mirozoyan, psychiatrist Alexandra Yalta, lawyer Polina Gabay and other specialists will touch on the ethical and legal aspects of choosing a competent specialist and the pitfalls of the field. Maria Gantman, a gerontopsychiatrist, will talk about problems in communicating with older people and about the help that can be given to a relative suffering from dementia.

On January 23, in the discussion, “The Truth About Online Dating,” experts will talk about changing romantic relationships with the advent of technology. The meeting speakers - philosopher Julie Reshet and HSE teacher Olga Solovieva will discuss user behavior research in online dating applications. At the meeting, a teleconference will be organized with the founder of the Pure application, Roman Sidorenko.

January 30, you can take part in the joint laboratory "Live." Under the guidance of the curators of the laboratory, we will decipher the diaries of the early twentieth century from the funds of the Museum of Moscow.

On February 7, at the discussion “Digital Memory”, cultural expert Oksana Moroz, teacher of modern philosophy and cyber feminist Lika Kareva and cultural expert Yekaterina Lapina-Kratasyuk will talk about digital reality, its connection with memory, death and cyberfeminism - a direction in the philosophical thought of the modern feminist community related to cyberspace and information technology.
