Sergey Podgorkov. BETWEEN RAIN AND FOG

Sergei Podgorkov was born on September 3, 1953 in Novgorod in a family of military personnel. He graduated from school in Leningrad. Engaged in photography since childhood, but “meaningfully” - since the 1970s. He has been a member of the Zerkalo photo club since 1975. Areas of interest: reporting, landscape, portrait.

Sergei Podgorkov became a chronicler of the life of informal Leningrad at the end of the 20th century. His material is a social genre. His ability to capture the moment when the everyday life and everyday life of the surrounding life is striking in its sharp character and unique personality is striking.

Photographs taken by the author in different years, including in the last decade, will be presented at the exhibition in the Borey gallery.

If the photo disappears tomorrow, the world will not turn upside down. The world will not collapse if music, painting, cinema disappear. It will be harder without bread, electricity and firewood. But generating heat and food as an end in itself is dreary and not exciting. ”
