"Contemporary art of the Republic of Bashkortostan"

The Union of Artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan is a mobile creative team of artists and art historians, among which there are many bright names. Professional Bashkir art, set by the work of the oldest masters, began its activity in Bashkiria in the pre-revolutionary years. Currently, 218 artists and art historians are creatively working in the Union. Many artists have received state awards, as well as awards from prestigious international and foreign competitions and festivals.

This exhibition of contemporary Bashkir fine art, held as part of a creative exchange, is not retrospective in nature, it exhibits 200 works by recognized masters and young authors, created from 2010 to the present day, which reflect a certain picture and trends in the development of fine art in republic for the last decade. The canvases, executed in a traditional realistic manner, are adjacent to the exhibition with works of a symbolic-mythological or modernist character. Transforming the experience of world art, modern Bashkir artists preserve the traditions of the Bashkir school. From here comes the decorative, plastic expressiveness of their work, emotionality, painted with a deep feeling.

The landscape genre, which occupies a significant place both in painting and in graphics, is widely used in the fine arts of the republic. The original graphics are dominated by watercolor. Along the path of expanding storylines and imaginative solutions, Bashkir sculpture develops. In recent years, the rise has been experiencing decorative and applied art of Bashkortostan and the revival of the original folk craft - felting.

In general, the exhibition reflects the picture of the spiritual, creative searches of contemporary Bashkir artists.
