"Unicornis + Pisces" (Unicorn and Pisces)

On May 10, 2018, at 18.00, the Saratov artist Mikhail Gavryushov will present the author’s project “Unicornis + Pisces” (Unicorn and Pisces) in the Lavrushinsky 15 exhibition hall in Moscow.

The theme of the exhibition is two signs of the zodiac cycles. The semantic and exhibition center is the installation (object-allegory), referring the viewer to the morphology of astrological signs. Photofixing various states of the sign object, its interpretations (Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo…).

The author focuses on the sign of Pisces. Dualism and opposition of a pair of fish. Symbolism of the Pisces sign.

Emphasis on the sign of the Virgin and her attribute - Unicorn (Unicornis). Allusions of the five senses (still lifes).

About 26 works (photography, painting, installation) will be presented.

About the author:

Gavryushov Mikhail Alexandrovich was born in 1963 in Saratov. Successfully graduated from the faculty of architecture and graduate school of the Saratov State Technical University.

In the late 1980s, he was a member of the Yellow Mountain creative association (catalog). Member of the TSH of the Saratov Region, laureate of the RAX Prize named after K. S. Petrov-Vodkin (“Red Gate / Against the Current 2016”), the Silver Medal of the TSHR, the theater award “Golden Harlequin” (author of about 25 scenography). An artist of a number of regional exhibition projects and installation projects, a participant in international and regional exhibitions. Personal exhibition in the Radishchev Museum was held in 2017.

The works of Mikhail Gavryushov are in the collection of the Russian Museum (photo section) and private collections in Germany, Austria and Russia.
